Ceramic Coating FAQ
What is ceramic coating?
Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that chemically bonds with your vehicle's factory paint, creating a semi-permanent layer of protection. The coating forms a hydrophobic (water-repelling) surface that shields against UV rays, chemical stains, bird droppings, tree sap, and environmental contaminants.
How it works: The SiO2 (silicon dioxide) in the coating fills microscopic pores in your paint's clear coat, creating a smooth, glass-like surface. This bond is much stronger than traditional wax or sealant.
Key benefits:
- UV protection that prevents paint oxidation and fading
- Hydrophobic properties make washing easier and less frequent
- Chemical resistance against bird droppings, tree sap, and acid rain
- Enhanced gloss and depth of color
- Protection lasting 2-7 years depending on product quality
- It does not prevent rock chips or scratches — that requires PPF (paint protection film)
- It does not eliminate the need for washing entirely
- It does not fix existing paint damage — paint correction should be done before application
